The King's Mobile Home Goes Up For Sale

For someone who already has everything, or needs a mobile home, comes this: A trailer owned by Elvis Presley and used to house guests is up for auction. uDiscoverMusic reports:
One of at least eight mobile homes Elvis Presley parked on his 163-acre property near his main residence Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee, is up for sale later this month. The mobile home is going on auction as part of GWS Auctions’ Legends: Iconic Film & Music Memorabilia sale, on 25 August.
“The mobile home, it’s just one of the coolest pieces we’ve ever had,” Brigitte Kruse, lead auctioneer and co-founder of GWS Auctions told CNN Travel.
“There’s a lot of history behind this particular mobile home,” Kruse says.
Circle G Ranch was a getaway for Elvis, his wife Priscilla and his gang of close friends, nicknamed “the Memphis Mafia”. There were enough mobile homes to house them all when they wanted to escape from media attention.

Elvis & Priscilla Presley's 60' Two Bedroom Delta Mobile Home From Circle G Ranch W/All Paperwork (Recently Restored) - This spectacular piece of rock & roll history is Elvis and Priscilla Presley's two bedroom, 60' Delta mobile home. The mobile home was on Elvis' famous "Circle G Ranch", near Graceland. Elvis bought the ranch in the 1960s as a getaway that would still be near Graceland. After he and Priscilla married, they spent part of their honeymoon there, and originally started out using the ranch house immediately after purchasing the property. Elvis liked his Memphis Mafia around, and he figured the way to do that was to buy eight house trailers and have them installed on poured concrete pads near the lake on the property. The accommodations for the guys were set way back on the 163 acre property, however, Elvis seemed to have really loved hanging out with his buddies back in the trailer area, and as a result, in March he ordered this two-bedroom trailer for him and Priscilla. In April 1967 when filming for the film "Clambake" was paused, Elvis was able to spend three straight weeks on the ranch, and it has been argued that that Spring was one of the happiest times of his life. There has been some confusion about which Elvis buddies had trailers along the lake, but it is said that they were primarily for married couples, including Jerry Schilling and his wife, along with Elvis' first cousin Billy Smith and his wife Jo. This mobile home is a chance to own a true piece of history, and a place which was once a key part of Elvis' happiness. Some sources closest to Elvis even say this might be where Lisa Marie was conceived, due to the date of purchase. The mobile home was manufactured by Delta, and measures 60' long x 12' wide. It has recently undergone a beautiful restoration, and is in the condition in which Elvis and Priscilla left it. The mobile home will come with the original paperwork, including a notarized bill of sale dated 1967 which was signed by Elvis himself, State of Tennessee Department of Revenue slip with Elvis' and the Circle G Ranch name and mobile home sales contract. This piece is currently owned by a museum, and the new owner will receive a bill of sale. The auction house can assist the winning bidder with facilitating the transport and can provide shipping quotes if needed. The trailer is already on axles and tires and is already prepared to be moved. The mobile home will come with a faux rock skirting as seen in the photos, if the buyer wishes.
